Calcium was discovered in 1808 by Sir Humphrey Davy in England. How he found was, he dissolved lime into a mercuric oxide mixture and then passed an electric current through it. It means, he used electricity to pull out all the calcium from the lime stone.
Calcium is important because it helps bones, teeth, muscles, and disease, like heart burn. Heartburn is when you can't digest food because you have lots of acid and it makes your stomach hurt. Calcium is used in toothpaste, cleaning powder, dry wall.
